Pingly is a privately operated Discord logging bot. This page describes the data processed by the bot and its website, why, and your rights.
To provide the logs and features requested by server administrators, Pingly processes: message content and attachments (for deletion/edit logs), server events (joins, leaves, sanctions, channel and role changes), voice sessions (presence time), used invites, public identity history (usernames, display names, avatars) and, for backups, the server structure including each member's roles and the ban list. Some features store data you provide yourself: your vote in a poll (only to prevent double voting and let you change your mind — it is never published by name, and no page or command can reveal who voted for what), your sign-up to an event, and your birthday if you register one. For birthdays, Pingly stores the day and month, NEVER the year: the bot does not know your age and cannot work it out.
Reports: when a member reports a message or another person, we keep who reported, who is targeted, the chosen reason, the text written by the reporter, and a copy of the reported message — text and attachments. That copy is kept even if its author deletes it: it is the only way a report keeps any meaning. The server's moderation team sees who reported; there is no report that is anonymous to them. This data is erased along with the server.
Messages and attachments: 14 days by default (configurable 1–90 days per server). Event history: 90 days by default (configurable 7–365 days). Voice statistics, invites, sanction cases and identity history: kept while the server uses the service. Backups: 7 automatic backups kept, manual backups until deleted by an administrator. Poll votes and event sign-ups: until the poll or event is deleted. Birthday: until you erase it yourself, or automatically and immediately if you leave the server — no setting lets an administrator keep it after you leave. Reports and report cases: kept while the server uses the service, erased with the server, or on request via the support server.
When logging in via Discord OAuth, the site receives your Discord ID, name and avatar plus your server list (IDs, names, permissions). This data is only used to display and secure your dashboard; the session expires after 30 days, extended on each visit. The Discord session token is kept for the lifetime of that session, only to refresh your server list. Member verification and public forms only request the “identify” scope (ID, name, avatar): they never see your servers and keep no token. Pingly never asks for the right to make you join a server. The site uses no advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
Data is processed on behalf of server administrators, for the sole purpose of providing the logging, moderation and backup features they configured. No data is sold, rented or used for advertising.
Data is stored on a private server located in the European Union, encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS to Discord and the website). Access is restricted to the bot operator and, for their own server's data, to administrators via the bot and dashboard.
Data is not shared with any third party. It is only visible to the authorized administrators and roles of the relevant server, according to its configuration.
You may request deletion of data about you (archived messages, identity history, statistics, reports) via the support server. Two pieces of data you provided can be erased without going through anyone: your birthday, with the /anniversaire oublier command, which deletes it immediately; and your visibility, with /anniversaire visible off — by default nobody can look up your date, you have to ask for it explicitly. Administrators can purge their server's data at any time (retention commands, /setup → delete all, removing the bot). Removing the bot immediately stops all collection.
The service is intended for users meeting Discord's age requirements (13+, or higher depending on your country). Pingly never asks for, stores or infers any age or year of birth: the birthday feature keeps only the day and month. There is therefore no age file, for minors or for anyone else.
